Sri Lanka appoint Rixon as fielding coach

COLOMBO: Struggling Sri Lanka on Saturday declared the arrangement of previous Australian cricketer Steve Rixon as their handling mentor, in an offer to support arrangements for the world glass one year from now.

The 64-year-old will start his new task in the not so distant future and join the group in New Zealand where, beginning December 15, Sri Lanka are planned to play two Tests, three one-day internationals and one Twenty20.

They will later play two Tests in Australia from January 24.

"We are upbeat to welcome Steve into the group," Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva said.

"I am certain he will have the capacity to help the group pushing ahead, with his ability in the zone of handling which is an indispensable part of the diversion."

De Silva said Rixon will work with the national group until the finish of the 2019 World Cup.

Sri Lanka have been battling for shape as of late, losing the home ODI and Test arrangement to England.

They have likewise been hit by emergency off the field.
